The Boat

Adventure begins the moment you step aboard Malaialena, our 30-foot Rigid Inflatable Boat, also known as a RIB. This style of vessel is known for its stability, safety, and smooth ride, which is why these boats are often used by the Coast Guard.

Malaialena offers a fun, comfortable, and adventure-ready experience with padded seating, shade, an upper viewing deck that seats four guests, and yes—a bathroom on board! For a 30-foot adventure boat, that is a big deal.

Our vessel is also equipped with an 8-speaker sound system, perfect for enjoying Hawaiian music as we cruise the Kohala Coast. During whale watching season, we use our onboard hydrophone so guests can listen to the incredible songs of humpback whales beneath the surface.

Getting in and out of the water is easy with two rear ladders, making it simple for guests to climb back aboard after an unforgettable snorkel experience with manta rays, turtles, or other marine life.

Malaialena can accommodate up to 20 passengers. A minimum of 8 ticketed passengers is required to confirm and operate each tour. If your scheduled tour has not yet met the minimum requirement, we will notify you the day before and do our best to accommodate you by offering another tour date or providing a full refund.
